Pitch Perfectly Entertaining Memes For Music Lovers

By Jishnu B

Music is a form of art that has the uncanny ability to maneuver the ebbs and flows of one’s state of mind. No living person on this planet could deny the fact that music hasn’t evoked some sort of emotion in them, whether it be a happy feeling, extreme sadness that causes your eyes to well up with tears, or simply a calming sense of utter peace.

When such a powerful entity, capable of instilling so much emotion in people’s hearts, combined with the internet’s favorite leisure time content to consume—you guessed it—MEMES, the result is a joyful rollercoaster ride that is one worth taking the time to enjoy. Therefore, we have compiled a list of music memes that won’t fail to make you giggle.

We have memes for every music lover out there, from a nostalgic foot tap about why the heck we learned how to use tape recorders to make mix tapes from the radio in school to a metal head’s punk dream. Take your seats because the show is about to begin!

The Hot Pockets Bonanza

For years, Hot Pockets has been America’s go-to frozen comfort food. Given the widespread popularity of this dish, it can mean a variety of things to different people. It’s a college food staple, a late-night snack, an after-school treat, and so on.

Because of the success of the frozen food, the brand has released a variety of flavors such as BBQ, beef taco, cheeseburger, and more. However, the internet took this diverse flavor palette and mocked it by creating its version. Aside from trombone spit, meme enthusiasts have also created tide pod and sand flavors.

Nothing Suits Me Like An Oversized Suit

It was one fateful night in 1984. People were watching a documentary of a live performance by Talking Heads when they came across David Byrne’s iconic supersized suit. Although Byrne had worn the notorious outfit in previous years’ tour, it was the first time the look made its debut in celluloid.

The outfit has since cemented itself as an iconic piece of clothing that we will remember throughout history. However, it couldn’t escape the internet’s clutches as laughing material. Some people even compared the outfit to a tortoise inside a shell.

The Country Artist Debacle

If you are a fan of the country genre and pay close attention to the lyrics of the songs, you will notice a difference in tone between male and female artists. Male artists sing about beautiful girls in tiny shorts, making them their wives, bearing their children, blah blah blah.

However, when it comes to female artists, there is a significant paradigm shift in the song. It appears that female artists are perpetually in the “Oops, I killed my husband” mode. Hell seems to definitely have no fury as a scorned country girl.

Mr. Brightside

Originally released in 2004, the great song Mr. Brightside is one of those timeless classics. It has been over a decade since the song was released. However, people still love to take a hitchhike to nostalgia town for this song.

Mr. Brightside is essentially an anthem for broken hearts. It has the capability of making us reminisce about so many things. It can conjure images of the one who got away, the one we couldn’t have, or the one who didn’t want us, and the list goes on.

Lyrics Vs. Logic

It would be a spectacular sight if ten million fireflies appeared and lit up the sky. This user, on the other hand, is more concerned with the logistics of it all. He does have a valid point, though. How does one obtain a thousand hugs from 10,000 fireflies?

According to the careful mathematics performed by this user, there are two ways to accomplish this. Either every firefly hugs you 1,000 times, or only one-tenth of them does. This song is a must-listen regardless of how this statement is made possible.

The One Where Drake Fans Get Offended

There’s no way you haven’t heard of Drake if you live in the twenty-first century. He’s well-known for consistently topping the Billboard charts. Drake’s impact on pop culture is as pervasive as the internet itself. In today’s GenZ parlance, he is the GOAT.

Someone with such a stronghold on the pop culture industry is bound to be the subject of numerous memes. One of his most popular is the one in which he gives his approval hand. Understandably, not everyone enjoys his music, giving rise to this meme.

Takes Me Back To The Time I Didn’t Exist

The 1980s were a decade filled with outlandish melodic novelties and wonderful scores. Although most of the 80s synth-pop hits have become obsolete, Take on Me still thrives in this modern era. It was actually one of the first songs that propelled MTV’s fate towards success.

The animated music video follows the classic story of boy meets girl and then gets chased by men. This song has been a worldwide hit since its release three decades ago. It has also evolved into a meme that spans generations and centuries.

Kanye’s Ardent Fans

American rapper Ye, also formerly known as Kanye, is considered one of the most influential hip-hop musicians of all time. His brand is the epitome of combining music and fashion ingeniously. However, he is also notorious for his eccentric nature.

Ye’s name is almost synonymous with outrageous artistic pursuits. He is also no stranger to controversy. From strange tweets to controversial statements, it appears he has no intentions of slowing down. As a result, it would make sense to us if he released an album with no music one day.

When You Know It’s Your Soulmate

Finding a soulmate in the modern era is a rare occurrence. With so much technological progress and dating sites available, you’d think it’d be a piece of cake. We’re here to burst your bubble and prove you wrong. However, it is not an impossible task, and we have the perfect solution for you.

Gone are the days when you had to look for a spiritual connection before deciding on a life partner. When they have no complaints about your playlist list on shuffle, you know it’s your soulmate. But what if you’re the one who’s complaining about it?

The Chainsmokers

Known for their classic hits such as Closer, Don’t Let Me Down, and High, The Chainsmokers are here for the long run. It’s led by the iconic electronic duo Alex Pall and Drew Taggart. Although their taste in music is unmatched, their looks don’t necessarily follow suit.

People on the internet argued that you could replace the duo with body doubles because they “look like just two regular white guys.” There are even TikTok users who shamelessly impersonate the pair. In our opinion, it’s simple to imitate someone’s appearance but not their art.

Inceptions Of Me

Many songs come and go, but Evanescence’s Bring Me To Life will always be a timeless relic. The song’s lyrics are rich in symbolism, indicating that the narrator desires an awakening from the darkest recesses of their mind. This is where the “save me” part of the lyrics comes into play.

On the other hand, the internet’s meme lords have come up with a different interpretations for this song. However, if we take this on a serious note, the “tiny me” could represent our inner voice telling us to wake up. Meme material or not, this song is a must-listen.

Hey Ya! See You In Hell

Outcast’s 2003 hit, Hey Ya, has been the go-to party track for nearly 20 years. It’s one of those songs with depressing lyrics but gets overshadowed by the upbeat tone. It’s also interesting to see how some of the catchiest and most melodic songs go unnoticed as one of the saddest songs ever.

Imagine you’ve just arrived in hell for your heinous deeds. The first thing you hear is this song, but the catch is that it plays in a loop for the rest of eternity. It seems like the scenario gets even more depressing regardless of the song’s meaning.

What’s More Important

School has taught us so many things, and unfortunately, most of them are obsolete when it comes to real-life applications. We’re sure we had learned about ten different musical instruments by the time we were in second grade.

Cut to the chase; 20 years later, after graduation, we’re still unsure how to do taxes. Conversely, if someone shows us pictures of these instruments that we’ll seldom play, we can still recognize them by their names. Memes like these make us question our educational system, don’t they?

Mambo No. 6

To understand this particular meme, you have to be pretty much a meme expert. So, what’s all the fuss about Mambo No. 6? Apparently, it was the song Mambo No. 5 that was the inspiration for this meme. Mambo No. 5 was released back in 1950.

It was recorded by Cuban musician Damasco Perez Prado and is a mambo and jazz dance song. Such a lively song deserved its time in the spotlight. However, even after seven decades, people still eagerly await the sequel, and we understand why.

Hashtag Music

Even if you haven’t practiced the musical notes by yourself, we’re sure you’re still aware of the Sharp. It is used to denote a higher pitch. It’s a precious piece of music and shouldn’t be tampered with at all costs.

However, today’s generation cannot keep their namedrops to themselves. We’re all aware that the sharp symbol resembles a familiar sign we’ve seen before, the Hashtag. It can’t be that difficult to remember that it’s a Sharp and not a Hashtag, right?

The Hymn of Friendship

There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve always got your best friends by your side. True friendships are hard to come by in these trying times. You never know what intentions someone indeed harbors for you. However, consider yourself lucky if you’ve found your circle of people.

What better way to cement this friendship than to etch it down in musical notes? You read that correctly: Homies Can Be Together Forever. This hymn is essentially an anthem of friendship and a celebratory piece of art.

The Big Dogs Vs. The Small Dogs

Nowadays, the term “Dog” is used interchangeably to refer to someone who is a good friend. When it comes to the rap industry, we have big dogs like 50 Cent, Snoop Dog, Eminem, and Dr. DRE. Surely. They have influenced rap culture for a long time to receive a coveted position like that.

On the other hand, we have small dogs like Lil Pump, Lil Xan, Lil Pee, and 21. They are relatively new to the industry and in no way can compete with the big dogs here. However, we still do enjoy their music once in a while.

Starfish

Most of us have been caught jamming to Starboy, The Weekend’s ultimate bop. The song successfully conveys the stereotypical playboy image in the subtlest way. It goes without saying that it is a cult favorite and an absolute electropop banger.

Now, Imagine if Bikini Bottom’s favorite dimwitted, humorous, coral pink Starfish were the star of this show. Well, you already know who it is: Patrick Star himself. If any suave starfish deserves the center light, it is Patrick star himself.

Chronicles of Not Having A Good Stamina

Originally released in 2008, Breakeven is a song by the pop rock band The Script. The song even charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Breakeven is, at its core, a breakup song. We’re sure most of us have experienced the devastating pain of learning that our former lover has moved on.

This is where the “I’m still alive, but I’m barely breathing” sensation kicks in. However, this line can be readily taken out of context to imply that someone has simply run out of breath after climbing stairs. It’s fascinating how a breakup song taken out of context can become a meme.

Scientific Revelations Vs. Rap Rhyme Epiphanies

It was 2008 when T-pain dropped his song I Can’t Believe It featuring Lil Wayne. Little did he know that one part of the lyrics, “I can put you in a mansion, somewhere in ‘Wiscansin,'” would later go on to make waves on the internet.

“T-Pain was only 23 when he rhymed mansion with Wiscansin,” it’s been a decade. However, the internet still uses this statement as a popular comeback for less interesting historical figures facts. It was even compared to Sir Isaac Newton’s age when he discovered the law of gravity.

Impressive Vocals of Modern Love

David Bowie is regarded as one of the most influential artists in the rock and roll genre in the 80s. His vocals are unmatched, and his song Modern Love is a testament to that. In fact, his powerful vocals were one of the reasons that shaped his career.

This David Bowie song is unquestionably one of his upbeat numbers. When the vocal track is isolated, it takes on a completely different shape. In addition to the eerie backing vocals, this track is a masterpiece and a testament to Bowie’s incredible talent.

The Final Countdown

Given the number of 80s songs still being made into memes, we can safely say that this era produced a treasure trove of synth-pop hits. This next song is also a throwback to the 1980s. Even if you didn’t know the song’s name, you’d probably recognize it after hearing the first few choruses.

The Final Countdown debuted in 1986 and reached number one in 25 countries. The lyrics spoke about escaping the world and had both an apocalyptic and optimistic vibe. The iconic keyboard riff is memorable also. However, did you know that if you made the sounds “noodle meep moo,” you could cleverly emulate the riff?

Despite All My Rage

Bullet with Butterfly Wings is widely regarded as one of the best songs by alternative rock band Smashing Pumpkins. The song reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. It even won a Grammy in 1997, and we’re all here to relish.

There’s a part in the song that goes, “Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage.” This time, the rat in a rage was replaced by his old nemesis cat in a mage. The cat looks quite serious in that wizard costume, and he’s definitely in a rage.

The Rhyme For Good Night Sleep

“Good night. Sleep tight. Don’t let the bedbugs bite.” For most of us, it’s a familiar phrase and takes us back to our childhood days. It turns out that this phrase has a rich history. Bed bugs were a real thing back in the colonization and industrialization era.

The “sleep tight” portion relates to how beds were made during the 16th and 17th centuries. Tightening the ropes would allow for a good night’s sleep and keep the mattresses off the ground. Later it turned into a cutesy bedbug rhyme which people on the internet like to rip off with their renditions.

A Match Made In Heaven

This meme is here to educate you if you’ve never heard of this musical instrument. A kazoo relies on the humming sound of the vocals and creates sounds through resonance. It is effective at adding a buzzing timbral quality to the voice of the player.

Although this is a fascinating instrument, the device lacks in reaching a higher pitch. Therefore, knowing that Amazon sells an amplifier for this particular instrument is like a blessing for kazoo-playing enthusiasts. To them, it would surely feel like a match made in heaven.

The Legend Of Electric Avenue

“We gonna rock down to Electric Avenue, and then we’ll take it higher.” This 1982 song by Eddy Grant was a part of his album Killer on the Rampage. However, many might not know that the lyrics of the song had more profound implications referring to social situations.

This song was created in response to the 1981 Brixton Riots. In simpler words, it is about poverty and how capitalists choose to ignore it. When it comes to this meme, though, we don’t know why this individual couldn’t take it higher after rocking down to Electric Avenue.

Snoop Dog And His Lyrics Game

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, better known as Snoop Dog, is unquestionably a rap legend. Although he hasn’t released any significant songs recently, his work back in the day was on fire. His rap style is recognizable in that he has a distinct flow.

We understand that Snoop is not critically acclaimed because of his simple rhyme schemes, but that is what gives his music a personal touch. Sometimes it seems as if he scratches a section of a song and writes whatever comes to mind.

The Heavy Metal Detector

The metal genre rose to prominence between the late 1960s and the early 1970s. Excessive drumming, guitar instrumentals, and screaming vocals were all the rage back then. It was not only a type of music but also reflected the disenfranchised youths’ mood.

It’s no coincidence that a music genre and an element name go together as homonyms, giving rise to this particular meme. This metal detector is multifaceted and goes beyond detecting any ordinary metal, and we are all here for it.

The Age Of Seventeen

We’re all used to assigning ages to significant events in our lives. For example, 16 is the age to begin driving, and 18 is the age to declare adulthood. That raises the question, “What about 17?” That’s when you start becoming a dancing queen.

All jokes aside, ABBA’s Dancing Queen has been their best song since its release in 1976. It’s the most beautifully produced song with a euphoric premise out there. It also perfectly captures the carefree bliss that youth has to offer.

Alright, Alright, Alright

Most of us have been in a situation where we’ve had enough of talking on the phone and want to hang up. However, the other person ignores the memo and continues to speak. That’s when we say, “Alright, Alright,” because we don’t know what else to say.

To be honest, it’s always our mothers that tend to be on the other side of that phone. Now, we don’t want to be disrespectful and hang up the phone on them. Understandably, our mothers care for us and want the best, and we just have to be more grateful.

Where There is Only Diggity

When No Diggity, the lead single from Blackstreet’s second album Another Level, was released in 1996, it shook the world and turned it upside down. It got people grooving to it all over the world, adding the phrase “No Diggity” into everyday speech.

Although “no diggity” has been used as a slang term for “no doubt” since before the Blackstreet song, it was their song that first gained widespread popularity. If someone asks us whether this song is a hug bop, our response will surely be “no diggity.”

There’s No Competition

What would you say if your partner asked if you loved them more than any other music band? It’s difficult to respond when your idols are Led Zeppelin and Simon & Garfunkel. It would undoubtedly be a dire situation.

To be honest, we wouldn’t mind if you chose your idols instead. To many people, music is a breath of fresh air that makes them the happiest. This feeling can sometimes outweigh anything another human can ever make you feel. So it’s about time Mike got the message.

The Wrong Generation

American rock band Weezer was created way back in 1992. What really made the band so special was their geekiness. Their music was imbued with a quirky sense of humor and an endearing awkwardness, and it was this mixture that churned out the best songs.

Now, if you’re a 90s kid and have a thing for goofballs, we can surely say that Weezer was your band to listen to. It’s interesting the band has still managed to maintain its influence on the younger generation. Even Eighth Graders are still tuned to them.

The Punk Cock

We’ve all heard of the music genre punk rock, which has been around since the 1970s. This genre is akin to the one rebel in every family dynamic. It’s one of those aggressive forms of rock music that may not be for everyone.

The days of punk rock are over, as the punk cock has arrived to take center stage. He’s decked out in leather, chains, and the iconic mohawk to make a statement. If you like punk rock, you should definitely switch sides and attend the punk cock concert.

Radiohead To “The Rescue”

If you are a music fanatic, we can all agree that Radiohead has a reputation for writing depressing music. Their music is grim, haunting, and not something you want to listen to if you are trying to have happy dreams.

That’s why this guy makes sure that the band is ok between songs at one of their concerts. Imagine being on tour and having to play these depressing but beautiful songs on a constant loop? We truly can’t fathom it!
