Among the additions are Best Pop Dance Recording, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best African Music Performance. Notably, awards for Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year in the Non-Classical arena have transitioned.

The coveted Album of the Year will be a battle among Olivia, Miley, Jon Batiste, SZA, Lana Del Rey, Taylor, Boygenius, and Janelle Monáe.
